Fincas and Ruins
There are now very few un-restored fincas and ruins available in Lanzarote and they tend to be expensive and vary in levels of habitation. However, once restored, they are often unusual and very different from today's constructions. If not restored they often do not have roofs, nor services. Planning permission to restore and renovate must be obtained from the relevant Town Council or "Politica Territiorial" in Las Palmas. Finca's are often situated in rustic areas and can only be restored and renovated using the original 'footprint' of the property - if demolished, it is  unlikely that permission would be granted to build another property in its place.
