Arrecife
Arrecife is the capital of
Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, and yet is the smallest borough
on the Island with an overall area of just 23 kmē. However, almost
half (54,500) of the islands' population live there. Arrecife is
the administrative and commercial centre of the Island, with the
majority of lawyers, accountants and all the Notaries being based
there. Therefore to comply to the laws of buying a property for
sale in Spain, a trip to Arrecife and negotiating its maze of narrow
streets is required. The shopping in Arrecife is interesting as
new and old shops are intermingled with each other in and around
the main pedestrian street of Leon y Castillo.
